Shinaree Park Sewage Treatment and Biogas to Power Facility

Overview:

GreenTEC Energy is leading a groundbreaking 5-year project to develop the first biogas to power facility in Zimbabwe. Situated in Marondera, approximately 74 km east of Harare, this innovative project involves constructing a 100 kW biogas power plant as part of the Shinaree Park development by Mzee Properties (Pvt) Ltd. The facility will not only provide reliable electricity to 1,500 residents but also include a sewage treatment plant and main trunk line for the township’s commercial and residential areas.

Objectives:
  • Generate sustainable power for Shinaree Park, supporting a range of developments including a hotel, schools, and recreational facilities.
  • Mitigate pollution in Rufaro Dam caused by Marondera’s outdated sewage system.
